Local Sourcing: A Community Focus
Proudly boasting a 2AA Rosette, our kitchen is deeply committed to local sourcing.
We ensure our ingredients are not only fresh and seasonal but also ethically sourced. Collaborating with nearby farmers, gamekeepers, and north Norfolk fishermen, we actively support our local community and work towards reducing our carbon footprint. As proud members of The Sustainable Restaurant Association, we're recognised for our environmental initiatives and continually strive for improvement.
Discover Our No-Dig Garden
The development of our no-dig garden is an important part of our local sourcing strategy, providing a seasonal supply of fruits and vegetables that influence the flavours and creativity of our Farmhouse kitchen when possible. By growing our own produce, we reduce food miles from garden to plate, supporting our commitment to organic cultivation and waste reduction.
These homegrown ingredients feature in our menus whenever possible, appearing in our homegrown specials and taking centre stage at our Homegrown Supper Clubs - exclusive events that offer a unique, sustainable farm-to-fork dining experience, celebrating the very best of our garden.
Our no-dig philosophy focuses on preserving the natural balance of the soil, allowing it to remain undisturbed to encourage healthy soil life and nutrient-rich plants. We enrich our soil with homemade, organic compost from green waste collected across our grounds and kitchen, ensuring the fruits and vegetables we grow are not only flavourful but also packed with nutrients, providing the best ingredients for our guests' plates.
Our Gardens: Enhancing Biodiversity
The recent introduction of our wild meadow garden marks another milestone in our sustainability journey. This beautiful addition to our grounds plays a crucial role in enhancing local biodiversity, serving as a sanctuary for wildlife and insects, and fostering a thriving ecosystem. These efforts reflect our commitment to the environment and biodiversity here at The Farmhouse at Redcoats.
